About this policy
This policy explains how J&P Saucier PLLC, doing business as Saucier Psychiatry ("we" or "us"), handles information on our website, www.saucierpsychiatry.com. It covers only this website.
Your health information is covered by a different notice. When we care for you, the health information we create or receive is protected by HIPAA and North Carolina law. That information is described in our Notice of Privacy Practices.
Please do not send medical details through our website or email
Regular email and website forms are not a secure way to share health information. Please do not include symptoms, diagnoses, medicines, or other medical details in an email or website form. Instead:
- Current patients: use the secure Patient Portal (powered by Tebra).
- Everyone: call us at (910) 273-7572.
- In a crisis, call or text 988, or call 911. Our website, email, and forms are not monitored for emergencies.
Information we collect
Information you choose to send us
We book appointments by phone. Our website does not have online scheduling. Our "Request a callback" form does not send anything to our servers. Instead, it opens a pre-filled email in your own email app. That email includes your name, phone number, best time to call, visit type, insurance carrier, and preferred language. You can review it before you send it. If you send it, we receive it like any other email. We also receive whatever you include when you call or email us.
Information collected automatically
- Server logs. Like most websites, our website hosting provider keeps basic technical logs. These logs can include your IP address, browser type, the pages you visit, and the date and time. They are used to keep the site running and secure.
- Cookies. Our website itself does not currently use cookies to track you. Some features come from other companies and may set their own cookies or collect your IP address under their own policies. For example, the Google Maps map on our Contact page and the fonts we load from Google Fonts.
- Analytics. We do not currently use website analytics. If we add an analytics tool, we will set it up so it does not collect health information, we will not use it on the patient portal, and we will update this policy first. We do not use advertising pixels or retargeting, and we do not track you across other websites.
How we use information
- To call you back, schedule visits, and answer your questions.
- To run, fix, protect, and improve our website.
- To meet legal duties and protect our rights and the safety of others.
We do not sell your information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. We share it only with companies that help us run our website and email (who must protect it), when the law requires it, or to protect safety.
Links to other websites
Our website links to other services that have their own privacy policies. We do not control them. Please read their policies. They include:
- Tebra (Kareo) Patient Portal at portal.kareo.com. Information you enter in the patient portal is protected health information, covered by our Notice of Privacy Practices.
- Google Maps (maps and directions), and Google Fonts.
Children
We care for children and teens, but our website is meant for adults. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them online. Parents and guardians can call us at (910) 273-7572 about care for a child.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect our website. No website or email is completely secure, so please follow the advice above about medical details.
Your choices
You can set your browser to block or delete cookies. You can choose not to use the callback form and call us instead. To ask a question about this policy or a request about information you sent us, contact us below.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. We will post the new version on this page with a new effective date.
